Direct Medical Transport provide secure transport for the movement and care of patients suffering from Mental Health illnesses and who are detained under the Mental Health Act, this service covers the whole of the UK.

Our Mental Health vehicles are equipped with the most up to date equipment for secure patient's needs and are fitted with GPS tracking devices.

All of our secure transport vehicles have tinted windows, are fitted with CCTV for patient and staff safety and our crews also wear body worn cameras to ensure the safeguarding of staff and the patient.

Our single -cell vehicles give extra security for the more challenging of journeys, ensuring patient and staff safety is upheld at all times.

Mental Health crews are enhanced DBS checked and are trained in; Safeguarding, Mental Health Awareness, Mental Capacity and DoLs, First Aid, Learning Disability Awareness, Autism Awareness, Infection Control and Physical Control & Restraint techniques.

Non Emergency Patient Transport

Direct Medical Transport provide same day and pre-booked non-emergency patient transport for patient discharges, inter-hospital transfers, long distance transport and outpatient appointments.  

Ambulances can be double or single crewed and capable of transporting stretcher, wheelchair and walking patients and all carry medical oxygen.

Transport can be booked for same-day discharges, out patient appointments, inter-hospital transfers and long distance transfers.

PTS crews are enhanced DBS checked and are trained in; Safeguarding, First Aid, Learning Disability Awareness, Autism Awareness, Infection Control, Medical Gas Administration and Moving & Handling of Patients.

Our patient transport service supports many NHS Trusts, Integrated Care Systems (ICSs) and private hospitals throughout the country.
